Maybe im not depressed afterall. Why would i react badly to most if not all antidepressants?

And why am i so dumb to have done just another risky trial?

Lamdage22,

I suspect that having a psychotic disorder on top of a depressive disorder could complicate the treatment of the depressive disorder. At least that has seemed to be the case with me, and it looks like that might be the case with you, as well.

I don't think that continuing to make attempts at treating your depression is dumb, although I do think that it can sometimes be best to avoid medications that are similar to ones that have affected you badly in the past. In your case, I think that it made sense to attempt a trial with tianeptine, given its rather unique mechanism of action.

Having said what I've said, I will say that I came to the conclusion some time ago that medications aren't likely to help in the long-term treatment of my "depressive" disorder. That's not to say that I'll never consider taking another medication with antidepressant properties again, but that if I do try other medications with antidepressant properties, my expectations for such medications will not be very high. Now, I'm not recommending giving up on treatment altogether, but I am saying that for some of us who go through numerous medication trials without long-term success that treatment modalities other than medications sometimes need to be given greater emphasis.

That sums up my thoughts on what you've written. I hope that this post finds you doing well, or at least as well as possible.

Tomatheus,

i feel the same way about ADs.
My doctor suggested taking Zyprexa again. Needless to say, this trial three me back.

I also was ripped off by a taxi driver and almost blackmailed afterwards. Needless to say that that didnt help my pre-psychotic symptoms. Its hard to say where psychosis begins and where it ends.

I trust people WAY too much. And probably my family members not enough.

I would like to destroy this douche of a taxi driver.

Kicked me off further into the direction of what the doctors prefer to call psychosis.

I prefer to call it trauma with psychotic features.

Back on Zyprexa ontop of Seroquel

So, this AD trial threw me back in my plans to reduce my Antipsychotic dosage.

Im back on alot of AP. Thats life.

Note to self: Dont trust strangers so much. If at all

Hi Lamdage22,

I'm sorry to hear about your incident with the taxi driver. I certainly think that difficult situations can be challenging enough to handle in their own right and that handling the situation with the taxi driver while you were contending with psychotic symptoms (or maybe just what your doctors prefer to call psychosis) most likely presented you with a rather unique set of difficulties. In some ways, it might be best to be thankful that your incident with the taxi driver didn't turn out to be any worse than it was, although I don't doubt that it was a situation that was difficult and stressful.

I hope that being on the Zyprexa that you're taking, in addition to your other medications, will make any psychotic symptoms that you might be experiencing less of an issue and at least give you some peace of mind.

Tomatheus
