I give my Mom's daily meds to her - always as prescribed, out of a box that the home hospice RNs refill weekly.
Now I feel guilty if I take an extra ambien to sleep, or extra xanax to help it kick in! I do believe meds should be taken as prescribed, but occasionally I've had to do this. I took an extra ambien (we'll see if that worked), if that doesn't work I'm simply going to ride it out. Normally I'd have layered a xanax on top (I only took 1 dose today) but ... basically being my Mom's nurse has made me feel hipocritical if I do this. Sigh.
Insomnia is infrequent for me unless I am OVER-tired like today.
Will discuss with new doctor. I am aware of all the options.. :)

Hope you sleep. Don't be hard on yourself. But do know this is something to discuss with the doc. Phillipa
