Is there a med that will induce sleep that can be taken with 6mg Emsam patch. I can't take anti-psychotics or lithium because I can't function. Benzos are not an option. Perhaps an anti seizure med with minimum blunting side effect? Any numbing will cancel out the AD effect of Emsam. Hope I get a response to this post as I am desperate.

maybe Neurontin or lyrica? I don't know about lyrica, but you can take Neurontin as-needed as a sleeping pill. Lyrica is a schedule V controlled substance, so it shouldn't be as addictive as benzos, but I've never taken it, so...I dunno (keep in mind, Quaaludes were schedule IV or V for a while, too).
Anyway, have a good one.

How would Seroquel 25 mg affect you?
Remeron 15 mg?
Trazodone might work, but it can leave you feeling yucky the next day.
Neither Neurontin nor Lyrica ever made me sleepy. I would wait for more feedback on this, though.
Some people get a good effect from Gabitril. I didn't.
If your doctor is up for it, you can add the TCAs: amitriptyline, doxepin, or trimipramine.

I haven't tried Seroquel. Risperidal for sleep gave me paradoxical effect in which I became psychotic.
Lyrica sounds good but Neurontin gave me acute psychosis. Maybe I am wrong but I seem to recall Lyrica is the closest relative to it and for this reason I have hesitated to try it. Tried Gabitril for anxiety, seemed to work good but I became unstable. Lamotrigine made made my mind a blank. I took Doxepin as a teenager and I hated it, seemed to actually be the cause of my social anxiety. Have had almost no response to TCA's. Remeron with its long half life kept me sleepy all day and into the next day at 7.5 mg. afraid I would become literally comatose.

Any possible interactions with these 2 opposite AD's
Emsam: causes extreme insomnia
Remeron: causes extreme sedation. My Dr. is prescribing both because at this point I'm just staring at the wall. Too tired to move from lack of sleep. Only 2 hrs of sleep last night.
This is the end of the thread.
