Straterra for the blues

Does anyone have experience using Straterra for depression? I'm thinking of adding it to my cocktail of lithium, lexapro, vyvanse and geodon.

I am not impressed by Straterra for treating mood disorders. It didn't give me the few days of remission that the TCAs do. However, I have seen it improve the depressive symptoms that are often associated with ADHD.

I was on Strattera for ADD, and while it improved my motivation, it didn't give me much relief for depression and increased my anxiety to the point where I would get panic attacks and throw up.

Any specific reason you want to try Strattera over a NRI antidepressant like nortriptyline?

Not good.

How would you compare desipramine to nortriptyline in the treatment of ADD / ADHD?

TCAs tend to make me feel mucky.

No, straterra is an NRI-norepenephrine reuptake inhibitor.

Someone suggested Parnate w/ the lithium. I imagine you could add in an atypical and maybe keep the amphetamine.

or...maybe...Provigil?

i've been on strattera twice....both at 80mg's the standard dose....all it does is improve attention and alertness, diffrent from maybe a stimulant....your more aware of things....concentration but has no dopamine effect....

it caused me irrtibility when i took it in 07.....i had to get off it.....but the mood....mmm all its gonna do is increase NE levels...attention and alertness.....not so much dopamine reward feeling.....

you should try it out, ask the doctor for samples...try it for a while

Atomoxetine did nothing to improve my mood.
