About 6 wks ago my son was released from the care
center, upon release his regimen was this 1 Haldol
5 mg, 1 Prozac 20 mg, 3 Wellbutrin 150 mg. in
morning. 2 Haldol 5 mg. Results a little tremor at
first, 2 weeks later constant tremor and stiff
upper body 2 more weeks, trouble riding his bike
also.
He is 26 yrs and doesn't drive schizo-affective
since age 15. we have been seeing a counselor also
connected with care center. Counselor's
recommendation = catatonic behavior due to
medications rectify with our own Pdoc ASAP.
OK first I have quite a bit of experience with
psychiatric meds and the first thing I did was
drop the Prozac on day 1, 2 days later I had him
drop 1 Wellbutrin and one Haldol in the evening.
By the time we got an appointment and got to our
Pdoc, I had taken him down to one Haldol and one
Wellbutrin in the morning an one Haldol in the evening.
He had improved significantly by then. Now between the Pdoc me, my wife and my son we
agreed to start him on Latuda while continuing to
gradually phase out Wellbutrin and Haldol. The
doctor agreed with what I had done so far and he
(my son) has been on Latuda 2 days. Day one on he
was very sleepy, day 2 much better. Lets see how
today goes?

I'm glad you stepped in to stop the over-medicating.
Other than that...all I can come up with is get the neuroleptic to a good place and add lamictal.

EPS symptoms of Haldol disappearing, he naps in the afternoon but awakens energized.
Anyway some improvement, I will update in a week. Taking Latuda 80mg, Wellbutin,
Prozac and Haldol all discontinued.
This is the end of the thread.
