:-)
Gotcha.
Hi Eric.
Since you are about the first person on Psycho-Babble to try Brintellix (vortioxetine), I was wondering whether you would be kind enough to start a diary of sorts describing your experiences with this drug. Perhaps you could start a new thread listing your diagnoses, symptoms, and current treatment regime.
Thanks. I know it is a lot to ask. I would totally understand were you to decline the request.
For the purpose of creating a diary, you can post more than 3 consecutive times along the thread.
I am encouraged and excited by your reports of experiencing an improvement in your condition since you began taking Brintellix.

Sorry for the delay in posting on my thread.

Scott,
> Since you are about the first person on Psycho-Babble to try Brintellix (vortioxetine), I was wondering whether you would be kind enough to start a diary of sorts describing your experiences with this drug.I would love to have started a diary on the drug however I was fored to stop taking it. When I went up to the 20 mg dosage I started vomiting all the time and could not get the nauseau and emesis under control with ondansetron. I really hate having to stop the drug, but bmy body couldn't tolerate it.
In two weeks, the medication started getting the worst of my OCD underr control. By 4 weeks I was free of sucicidal ideations, which I have always had difficulty treating. By 6 weeks I was very calm but depressed. I'm sure with a couple more week my depression would have come under control.
Eric
Lithium 1200 mg
Lexapro 20 mg
Vyvanse 70 mg
Geodon 160 mgPS. Did you know, Geodon has many of the same mechanisms of action Brintellix does?

I am profoundly sorry that you had to discontinue Bintellix. I very much appreciate your reporting your experiences with this drug. Personally, I have never had to stop taking an effective drug because its side effects precluded its use. It must be punishing to have remission snatched away from you. I understand this.

> PS. Did you know, Geodon has many of the same mechanisms of action Brintellix does?I wasn't aware that it was a 5-HT7 receptor antagonist. Thanks for the cue.
I would love to find a 5-HT7 receptor antagonist that does not inhibit the reuptake of serotonin so that I could stay on Parnate. Unfortunately, both Latuda and Saphris antagonize NE alpha-2a autorecptors, an action that I believe caused me to feel significantly worse on both of these drugs, despite experiencing initial improvements. (Remeron and idazoxan - both NE alpha-2 antagonists - exacerbate my depression). Latuda, in particular, made me somewhat suicidal.
I tried Geodon once. At 40 mg/day, I developed profound cognitive impairments (brain-fog) that was enough to produce some derealization. Had I known any better, I would have tried reducing the dosage to 20 mg/day.
So, what's your next move?

that sucks.
sorry eric. argh.
i, too, was watching/hoping w/interest.
not to be a sour-puss, but 'reviews' are starting to come in on this new med. reminds of viibryd a few years ago. lots of complaints about nausea, etc. the limited reviews have been mixed.
i am curious if you had stayed at a lower dose? when viibryd first came-out it was initially prescribed at a higher starting dose than it is today. same as with prozac compared to 25 years ago.
hmmm...
same as it ever was it seems.
i can't say i am too disappointed. (except for it not working for you eric.)
deep down i had a feeling this would be the same old story. i don't know the mechanisms of the drug. but, it seems all i read on it was about how excited investors were about the potential for investments. and, the press releases from the company, again, were mostly geared toward those same investors. makes one wonder...
again, sorry eric it didn't work-out for you.

Did Brintellix produce insomnia?
Thanks.
