Lost Insurance, Cash Much Cheaper

Posted by bleauberry on February 24, 2014, at 15:31:12

I am one of those people in the news that lost their health coverage involuntarily, thank you obama sir.

Going forward, cash only. No more of the insurance scam stuff. opinion. I take my premiums, put them in an envelope marked Health Fund, keep a log of when money goes in and how much.

In the past, a visit was billed to my insurance at $250. But since the deductible was so high, the visit was not covered. I had to pay the $250. Every time. (sort of makes you wonder about the usefulness of the whole insurance thing)

So today I told them I no longer have insurance and I will pay cash. Guess what the bill was this time? $114.

HHmmm. Something fishy going on in the medical/insurance world. If it costs that much more to do business with an insurance company, well, what can I say. You figure it out.

hi b-

this board is turning into a political forum. lol

just a suggestion;

your visits may end-up being cheaper, but if you have any major medical need i can pretty much tell you that your cost will be extremely expensive.

i don't want to turn this into a pro/anti 'obamacare' deal.

and, i don't know your personal situation in regards to health. (both physical and mental.) but again, i cannot stress enough that having some type of insurance really is a must.

if you want some help on this feel free to babble mail me. you do have options i feel that are better than going w/out health insurance. better options both in cost and coverage.

john

John I so agree. Even with medicaire I pay for supplemental insurance for the 20% that medicaire doesn't cover. Right now none of my meds are expensive but should I need them in future would lose home and all I have. Phillipa
