I have been battling with depression since like 3 to 4 years. It got worse after my friends left the states and i stayed pretty much on my own for quite a while.
I havent stayed in touch with my friends. I am soon going to move back to my hometown. So maybe the friends factor will fix alot. IDK. But in times where i was socially integrated i havent been so severely depressed.
As far as (failed) treatment options:
Parnate & Nardil: pre-psychotic, psychotic
Moclobemide : Agressive thoughts.. pre-psychotic
Remeron : Disturbing nightmaires.
Effexor : Not that effective.
Cymbalta: Anorgasmia
Zoloft: AkathisiaLithium orotate: Alright, curbs the worst suicide thoughts.
EPA : works a tiny bit.
Gastrodin : Possibly works a little bit.Risperdal: failure
Zyprexa : lazyness, depression, weight gain
Seroquel : Alright.
Geodon: Akathisia, sedation
Latuda : Akathisia, sedation
So, im looking for strategies to help me get my life back. I have spent some thoughts on Serzone. Why not? Please keep in mind that MAOI have sent me into at least pre-psychotic states if not into full blown psychosis.
I would appreciate any input. I am trying 5-htp right now

I'm not sure if this is the best option but Thorazine is a vary good medication to non responders to other anitpsyotics, that or clozapine....but that has its own side effects, im not a expert but i think you should ask your doctor to try thorazine....it's gonna help and calm the manic states, my friend i met at a NA meeting takes thorazine....and she's not a crazy person but she was given it for a severe mood disorder, and it levelized her out.
Lithium Oratate, is a low dose compared to Lithium Carbonate....you should try lithium through the presciption form....its much stronger and will help...the only thing is blood work is required. same with clozapine....
i don't think wellbutrin would be good, it made me crazy, on fire with anxiety....nervous wreck, but thats only for me....
have you thought of lyrica or nuerontin?

My primary complaint is debilitating depression. Seroquel takes care of psychosis alright
I want to try Serzone. Will need to find a pdoc willing to do that.

No i havent tried those yet.
Why would Lyrica be so good? I have depression, not specifically anxiety. Plus it makes you gain weight.
I really want to try Nefazodone right now. Then i would simply try the other SSRI. In terms of effectiveness, is there a ranking among the SSRI or are they all equal?
I have had alot of trouble with orgasm with Cymbalta but not with Effexor. I didnt try Sertraline long enough to say wether or not it diminished orgasm.
Anyway. I will try to convince sb. to prescribe me Nefazodone.

maybe 1 antipsychotic, not 2? You can go up to 20 with zyprexa or...well...sky's the limit with Seroquel. I've seen studies on 1 gram+ daily.Maybe Provigil, Ritalin? Wellbutrin? Vivactil? More supplements (yes, I'm recommending orthomolecular) ?

Im really disappointed. Once i was on a hell of a nardil combo with supplements. I was happy, i was travelling all over the globe and i wanted to pursue psychology studies.
It was a bit like heaven on earth to me. I felt like everybody else in terms of functioning. I had alot of fun working out.
Then nardil started making me psychotic and my life was destroyed.

I was studying, highly praised by my teacher, dating strippers, working out up to two hours a day...
I met a girl i liked. Everything was so promising.
Kinda like "i must be sleeping, please dont wake me. I thought life would now always be like this for me. Well i got woken up :(Big time.

Im really at the end of my rope. Sertraline was great .. only it gave me akathisia. I wonder if i could counteract the akathisia with benzos, lyrica or neurontin.
Sertraline was the best antidepressant i have tried so far.
This is the end of the thread.
