I'm taking 600mg of Trileptal for stability and it works great.
My question is about Geodon. Since I'm feeling so flat and actually a little depressed with the Trileptal, I'm wondering about the best dose of a Geodon, specifically to treat depression and flatness from Trileptal?
Would it be 80mg? Or lower like 40mg?
I'm not sure.
Input please.

I would think lower would be better. Higher doses of any antipsychotic sometimes=depression.

Doc called in 40mg caps to take either 1 or 2 a day.
I feel like 40mg - 60mg probably helps with depression, but I also experience some agitation. I'm wondering if I would still get the AD feel from 80mg.
I notice a distinct added stability with 80mg.
Opinions?

> Opinions?Your observations reflect the prescribing practices of doctors. If you were treating depression, 40 mg/day is the dosage most often used successfully. For bipolar disorder, where affective instability exists, 80 - 120 mg/day is usually indicated. 20 mg/day often agitates people.
