Started Parnate 01-01-2014 10 mg/day for a few days.
Ramped up to 10 mg BID after a few days.
Took 10 mg Vyvanse yesterday at noon -- YES, *10* mg.
Big mistake. Although I took the Vyvanse at noon, it keep me up all the next night.

Heh,
It's fun too look through what's worked and not.
Last time I was on Parnate was in 2009, and I searched through the archives.
I replied to myself, but I guess that doesn't show up as anew post.
I'd forgotten about the 2 PM nap syndrome.

10mgs vyvanse? thats like only 2.5mgs of adderall...vary low and it kept you up all night? well we all are diffrent....i was on 140mgs in 2008 which is a pretty high dose of it....
ask the doctor about maybe 5mgs of dexedrine, that would be the same, and it wears off much quickly than vyvanse

It does, but that's an earlier thread, so it's at the top of the page:

Yes, it's a tiny dose of amphetamine. But my nervous system is peculiarly sensitive to them.
When not depressed, 2.5 mg Desoxyn is my mainstay.

Drugs.Com interaction warning:
Using tranylcypromine(Parnate) together with lisdexamfetamine(Vyvanse) is not recommended. Combining these medications can cause dangerously high blood pressure and even death. You may use lisdexamfetamine only after you have been off tranylcypromine for at least 14 days. You should seek immediate medical attention if you experience sudden and severe headache, blurred vision, confusion, seizures, chest pain, nausea or vomiting, sudden numbness or weakness (especially on one side of the body), speech difficulties, fever, sweating, lightheadedness, and/or fainting during treatment with tranylcypromine, as these may be signs and symptoms of excessively high blood pressure. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.

2.5 Desoxyn + 10 mg Parnate TID (25 days into it) is too much, but 1.25 mg is nice.Won't try Vyvanse again until I'm sure I'm very stable on Parnate -- 40 days or so.
This is the end of the thread.
