I have a pdoc appt. in 3 days and I have mild ocd, chronic anxiety, and worsening depression in winter. I have a constant mind chatter that my mind overthinks and wont SHUT OFF and calm down unless on a benzo. what antidepressant would suit me best in your opinion? I highly value many of you regular posters opinion and I am at a loss anymore. what would you suggest.Effexor and lexapro just bombed for me so that's out.
Thnx so much for your advice.

No expert. But if the SSRI's make it worse do you need one? Maybe just the benzo? But listen to yourself and of course you doc. Phillipa

My vote is for Zoloft and Klonopin. Combo works well. I had same probs as u. Good luck : ) And I always try the lowest doses first to see if it works

ummm...maybe low dose Prozac (its CHEAP!) and keep the benzo, maybe up the benzo for a couple weeks?
Just a thought. I was thinking maybe a low dose of a more energizing sri, plus a benzo, since winter time blues usually involve lethargy. Just a guess...your doc will obviously be the one to make the decision.

I would select an SSRI that will be more calming, like Viibryd.
