I think this website has been more effective at alleviating depression than any medication I've ever taken. This site gives you endless opportunities to be helpful to other people and also feel a sense of companionship. This website is good stuff. Does anyone else agree?

I've always enjoyed babble and since was an RN gives me an opportunity to feel that I am possibly still helping others. Phillipa

I once confided to a friend that I was depressed, and had been for much of my life. She immediately said, "Try going out and making some new friends. Take up a new hobby, like gardening." She meant well, but she'd probably never suffered from depression herself, so she had no idea what she was talking about. (I think that most people who've never been depressed think that they do know what depression is like. They say things like "Everyone gets depressed from time to time." They equate ordinary sadness with depression. They just don't get it.) A good thing about Psycho-Babble is that it puts you in touch with people who do get it.

I love this site even though most my posts go unanswered lol.
Anyway when researching i first go to wikipedia for some pharmacology and non pro or con info.....then i head over to pubmed for some sound studies or if its known yet to the medical community....then to google SCHOLAR for any published info....then here to talk about it......last a few user ratings sites to see how the average joe feels on it.Hope that protocol helps.

Actually heard this from a PDoc this week who said he experienced depression--was appalled. Luckily he isn't my pdoc, just a TMS provider to go to while my Pdoc's TMS machine is updated. Oy! I have just returned here as I'm in a rough patch. Forgot how good it is to chat with folks who get it.

I'd be interested in hearing how your TMS is going.

> Well, going a bit slower this time around but that might just be because I know how much it can help from other rounds with it. I'm anxious to feel better and get my life back. Did the depression scales today and my numbers were a definite improvement, and the pdoc was happy, so I guess that is a good thing, right?
