Is tranxene any better than other benzos at treating anxiety? Is better when it comes to tolerance and dependence?

I don't know. Hopefully, someone will.
What is the nature of your anxiety?
Which benzodiazepines have you tried already?

I suffer from GAD. It's not situational. It turned on a long time ago following a traumatic event and never turned off. I've been doing some research and I think I'll ask my doc for a trial of trimipramine before going to a benzo.
The only thing that puts a dent in the anxiety is phenibute. Do you know of any med that would be as effective as phenibute, but could be taken long-term??
