I see doc tomorrow and I'm going to bring up my ridiculous vision problems on Trileptal. I love Trileptal, but I can't see!
I find myself waiting for the dose to wear off so I get my vision back. Everything is blurry and I wear glasses constantly - and I have great vision normally!
Tegretol was a disaster. And higher doses of Geodon also effect my vision - no were near Trileptal though.
I'm afraid she's going to suggest a slow change to something else. Last month she noted my glasses and eye issues.
I dread a med change.

Remember your site is very important to you. If you can't see what would you do? Sounds like some kind of weird side effects? Phillipa

Yes, Phillipa! My sight is very important to me. Not sure if Geodon can be used alone or what. We'll see what the doc says tomorrow. Some days I don't think Klonopin is enough.
Tegretol interfered with every med I took - even antihistamines!
Trileptal is the easier, friendly version of Tegretol.

She wants me to dose Trileptal smaller, like 150mg-300mg several times a day. This should really help. If I try to take 600mg at once I'm up all night peeing and my vision is terrible. She does want me to stick around 750mg instead of 900mg. This should help the Trileptal nausea I get.
She also dropped me back to 60mg of Geodon (this way I won't be as stupid as I was on 80mg). And she added back Buspar - which I did like.
Plus the 3mg a day of Klonopin. Once the Buspar kicks in it really helps with anxiety & depression.
I also told her about my consult with the neuro doc. I told her he wanted me to take Trileptal 600mg at a time - which makes me nauseous and also the Abilify, which just makes me fat.
I've been seeing her for a year and she knows me pretty well.
I'm happy and will stick with this plan. I see her again in 2 weeks! She's keeping me on a pretty tight leash! But, I probably need it, huh!

Glad the doc is tightening the leash. You seem a lot like me very impressionable to what someone says and when think about it realize it's not right for you. Stick with the plan. Phillipa

Have you tried taking the same total daily dose spread out as small doses eg. for someone on 300mg twice a day, taking 150mg four times a day might be more tolerable.

Actually, my doc mentioned that maybe a different generic might help.
So, I ordered a different generic and I can freakin' see! I'm still taking 300mg, 3 times a day, but the different generic helps a lot.
I guess you have to shop around.

Yes, Phillipa, can you believe that?!
My doc hates generics, she things they're not as strong as the original med and she thinks there's too much inconsistency in the various generics. Here I was ordering a particular generic because I thought I was having good luck with it and she mentioned trying a different generic and it works. No more feeling around and feeling blind all the time.
She's funny, everytime I complain about Teva Klonopin, she says she feels it's about 1/2 as strong as the original. But I guess she would know since she visited folks in the hospital years ago. Interesting. But I hate most, but not all, Teva meds.
This is the end of the thread.
