loosing my job in two weeks. will try to see about cobra, but i may not be able to afford that, as my ins now was high but at least i was getting income to pay for it.
i am mostly on generic meds. i've been trying to stockpile a few.
however, my adderall (cuz i cant buy more than one month at a shot) i'm refilling now and will have for one month. I'm really worried about getting next rx. and to be honest this is more of a mood lifter than for my ADD. if i stop it, it makes a huge drop in my mood.
ANY suggestions on coupons or something to help with cost?
i go through walgreens (for a reason with this rx) and they have a plan that if i pay $20 yr helps. However i think it only took the price form like 150, to $109.
Yes Generic!is there anything else out there that could help?
what if i went to name brand Adderall? would that actually help in terms of getting financial help?thanks

I just wrote for 15 minutes on this and it just disappeared. I'll try again later. Sorry.
Are you going to file for unemployment?

I can't remember the mfg of Adderall. You will have to jump through hoops so stay strong.
XR whether brand or generic is cost prohibitive. And, sometimes the generic is more expensive....that's what I said.
IR is much less and I had to go to it because Cobra ran out.
On probably all your meds you'll have to check prices. Adderall is all over the place.
There are social service organizations that can help. My therapist said one of his patients shows up at 7 a.m. and will see the doctor by noon. I thought, f*** that.
If you can file for unemployment do it now. You need cash coming in. Duh, obvious.
Forgot one thing, if you have a Costco nearby then call them first for prices. You might be shocked.
good luck

Yes, go to costco! I get zyprexa there because its cheaper than through insurance, copay.
My doc had a med discount card in her office which was free and supposidly reduces med prices a whole lot. There are lots of med discount cards everywhere now. You could even go to drug store and get a discount for meds if you qualify.
Have you tried to look for an insurance plan through the insurance exchange in your state?
that should help. I have SSDI with medicare so I have not looked. Medicare is great! Its only $200/month!

>>I can't remember the mfg of Adderall.
I remember...Shire, Teva, Novartis, and one more I can't recall - they all make it.
Last year during that insane shortage I was trying to help a woman I know check all over creation and read all about what the h&*& was going on online. Her teenaged daughter needed it and their own doc and pharmacist weren't really making any helpful suggestions.
I am trying to remember what happened and where they used to buy it when there *was* any available...
I am so, so, so blessed that a stable dose of Strattera takes care of my ADD 85%-95%.

>>And, sometimes the generic is more expensive....that's what I said.wth? that's just dumb, although not at all suprising... why do they do such stupid things...
i HAVE to have the corepharma brand generic, i have Terrible luck with ALL TEVA mfg generics it seems.
I have the option to do Cobra, but i carry for the family and it said it would be 1,366 (a month!). So lets see, now have No money coming in, so yes BCBS i can pay MORE...hmmmm
i checked into unemployment and i cant file UNTIL i am unemployed. then there is a two week waiting period. Then i can get unem... so yes i am going to do that in the interim.
Dang! have no Costco around. in Midwest and there's only Sam's clubs around. but its worth a shot to call around though.

zyprexa, Thanks for the link! i'll check it out now.
**************************************Ok NExt ins. question...
so with Obama's changes. supposedly there is no issue anymore (allegedly) with preexisting conditions...
but if i have to go to Cobra and then come back because of my medical issues wont i have higher costs? and can they still refuse certain coverages?thanks to all insights.

got option of 'joining spouse plan'-he's self imployed and has none; 'COBRA' thus earlier $1,366...; and get own plan
went to option of ins plans. got this when i typed in my info (and families)...>>Your search returned zero plans. Please check the information you entered and try again. If you have entered correct data and are still not receiving any search results, note that at this time we do not have complete plan information for all locations. Please check back at a later date since plans are updated on a monthly basis.
Try again
story of my life....try again.. :(

From what I understand 2014 is the year preexisting conditions no longer are held against you. Phillipa
