electroconvuslive stuff treatment

my psychologist told me one therpoy he said a symtom there's not enough voltage in the brain, even when medications are high potent, that's usally considered when that case happens. And I still live with my parents, they would really be worried if I did proceed with getting it done. My pdoc said he refer me to places where they have them done, but I can't ... I don't want to do it right now.....even thought all of the scattered throught, it is logical to get it done...because ect would help some....but I keep thinking the shock is like the severe case....im not a severe case....im just on cloud 9 a lot, not thinking like everyone else thinks....my thoughts are so disorganized it drains me to have a intelligent conversation to hold my thoughts in place....

so......well, has anyone else had this done here? what results came....like did you feel better? felt relieved?

The only good thing I can say about ECT, is that it can make you forget your addiction. When I was between hospital stays I took crack a few times. After all the ECT and hospital I had forgot about the crack, and so I didn't smoke it for many years. Then I did it once because I was hanging with guy who smoked it and he convinced me to smoke it. After that one day of smoking it, I wanted off it and never smoked it again. Many years later and now I'm at the point where I have no desire to even mentally want to smoke it.

What I'm telling you is abstinince is the only medicine for an addiction. The more you use it the more you will want it. If you don't use for a long time the desire will go away.

How many times did you use meth?

I was not a constant user.....I've seen constant users at the drug dope places, their face is skinny, looks boney and the appearance looks worn down and vary skinny....

I used it.....mmmm maybe about near 10 times but al the times of using I didn't do the binge where you stay up for 4 days, hit after hit....no I didn't do that stuff....I dealt with the crash by myself....tired, but I couldn't sleep. Bad. But yea ECT really could help, stimulate parts of the brain but still I have no plans right now of getting it....it will be a while, and really its not really a thing to look forward too....I always think of concrete room with machines from the 1930's with wires all over the head, even thought its moderenized, I still think of it that way....lol

so yea....meth is not going to be used, I've got to zone out, I know people in NA meets who where clean for 20 years and then they went right back to their habit....so that gives me a clue that avoiding it, it may help it may not, just having a final decision never to do it again.

yea thanks for the post..:)

I'm worried ECT is going to be pushed on me more and more. I'm hoping I can have Deep Brain Stimulation done soon, and if that doesn't help I won't know where to turn to. But I don't see ECT as an option. I'd rather them experiment on my brain with Optogenics.

I'm just sick of the mental health industry pushing therapies on the mentally I'll, telling them that these treatments are safe and effective with no long lasting effects to worry about from them. There isn't much common sense used in this industry. Seriously, sending volts into someones brain at a high enough intensity to cause a seizure? And then a "distinguished psychiatrist" telling you it can in no way harm the brain? And if you do complain months later about it ruining your life then you must be delusional! ts a disgusting joke.
