Hi, everyone,
Here at the APA, checked out the exhibit hall. Surprised to see a big booth for Marplan.

For some people, there absolutely is. Many of them do not respond to Parnate and Nardil. During the time that Marplan was withdrawn from the market, my doctor had some patients who continued to take it through a compassionate use program. I guess that was the only way they could stay well.
Although my therapeutic response to Marplan was limited, I was impressed by the lack of side effects that it produced.

Wiki's brief entry on Marplan makes major weight gain sound like a side effect. Is there any basis for this?

ill ask my doctor next time i see him, but what's the differential advantage of marplan vs nardil/parnate? i actually remember my doctor mentioning it a few years back when i was going through MAOI trials, but we never got to trying it...i forgot what he said, but there was something somewhat unique about it.

The manufacturers of the selegine patch are charging $600 per month for it - this for a drug that was developed in the 1960's in Europe - how on earth can they justify that price?

I wonder why Marplan isn't available in Australia.

Because the market for it is so small, it isn't worthwhile anybody selling it here
