Can docs write a script for placebo or dif dose?

Posted by Zyprexa on May 15, 2013, at 20:15:51

Is it possible for your doc to write your script for say 10mg z, and when you get the pills from the pharmacy they could really be a placebo or very weak dose? Why do they sometimes put the DEA# on script and sometimes not?

Its just realy weird that my zyprexa went from working fine to almost not at all. Almost overnight while I was on abilify. And it has gone from very effective to not effective at same dose pill whole time over that last 5 years.

I'm not saying the meds don't work, I think...

I say this because I sleep 12 hours a day still, if I don't have to get up for anything. And I would guess most psychotic symptoms are minimul. When I actualy take the meds. Some times I fall asleep with out my last dose of perphenazine and that is what realy messes me up. I am paranoid a lot still at times. And I don't belive I'm paranoid even when people tell me I'm just imagining it. But I guess that episode of missing 4 doses in a row is a sign that the meds are working. Just wonder if I need to raise perphenazine some. Or stay same

I think but don't factually know that a doc could try a placebo of usually something like a pain med under a hospital setting. But to write a script for outpatient pharmacy and you get charged for the med I'd think would be illegal. I don't feel this is happening to you. Does your doc know that your meds are not really working? Phillipa

No, it's not.

Abilify can potentially interact with other antipsychotics, because Abilify binds to dopamine receptors so strongly it might displace other medications. Perhaps Zyprexa would work better on its own for you, without Abilify.

I have not taken abilify since 2007. Right in the middle of my 6 month abilify trial is when z stoped working well. It never has seemed to work as well since. But atleast I'm not taking 30mg z a day anymore, now just 10mg, but it does not work as well as it did before the abilify.

Ah sorry, I misunderstood. It sounds like you've developed a degree of tolerance to the effects of olanzapine.
