Cee,

I don't see how crushing up Nardil tablets into a powder would improve the performance of the medication, unless the crushed-up Nardil is placed into capsules that would alter the delivery of the medication's active ingredient into the body. I've told you previously about the fact that Nardil seemed to become more effective for longer and have fewer side effects when I tried putting the crushed-up contents of my Nardil tablets into enteric capsules. Unfortunately, even that approach didn't work out for me in the long run.

So, how's your Nardil trial been coming along? It's been a while since I've heard from you.

Ok, Cee, please feel free to take your time. I do look forward to reading your update, though, once you have time to post it.

Nardil works alright as it is. Im thinking to give parnate a shot.

60mg is an ok dose?

Lamdage22,

See below for my responses to your post...

> Nardil works alright as it is.

From what I've read, responses to Nardil -- like those to any medication -- tend to vary from person to person. There are some for whom the current version of Nardil brings about remission of depressive symptoms. There are also some who partially respond to the medication. There also seems to be a group of individuals who responded more favorably to Nardil before it was reformulated in 2003 than they respond to the current version of the medication. Finally, I think that there are likely some individuals who don't respond well to any version of Nardil. There are also probably some individuals who don't fit neatly into any the Nardil response patterns that I've described above. Responses to medications, Nardil and otherwise, can be as unique as the individuals taking the medications.

I'm not a medical professional, but my thinking is that it would make the most sense to start out at a lower dose of Parnate (like say, 30 mg) and then to increase the dose if there seems to be a need for more medication after you've been taking it for several weeks. That's just my thinking, though, and if I had any advice to give it would be to take your medication as prescribed and let your prescribing doctor know if you think that any dosing adjustments would be a good idea.

Good luck with Parnate, if you end up taking it.
