Looks like alchohol was better at calming nerves than the AD's intereting link. Thanks Phillipa

Wonder how much $$ he has earned off his "meds will kill you" books sales.

Probably a lot of $. But at least he comes much closer to telling it like it is than the drug companies and the FDA tell you. I'm sure the owner of Pfizer, Eli Lilly or any drug company has made more money last year than David Healy will make in his lifetime.

I like that this guy actually engages with people on his website. He actually talks to the people on there.

And if you really read into what he writes about. His articles aren't exactly all about"meds can kill you". Its more about explaining all sides of the psychiatric system.
Hesa psychiatrist asnd yes he prescribes psychiatric meds, but he works in a much more logical way than the majoriy of psychiatrists.

When I first opene up the site I too thought it was going to be all about meds killing people. But its a bit different than that.

I think the ones who have experienced of what the psychiatric system has to offer have much less of a voice than anyone else in the system. More often they're not going to be believed by their psychiatrist. Or even called delusional. Many of them are in so bad shape they're not even able to go on sites like Psychobabble and talk to others about their condition and how to maybe get help. And this is assuming they haven't already offed themselves because what is meant to be helpful to them (psychiatry) is ruining their lives. This makes one feel hopeless.

I agree with you. We need better treatment.

We suffer from an insidious disease and some of us have it worse than others. I really hate taking all of these drugs but at the same time, if it weren't for them, I don't know where I would be. So which do I choose? The guy who tells me the drugs may destroy me or the guy who says they may save me. And in desperate times, invariably, I've picked the latter.

And I've had no choice but to continue trying meds even though some of them have ruined me. I just have to get my emotions back. I started taking meds because I let some if my emotions get too me too much, now Im way too unemotional.
