I went to see my pdoc for my 6 month visit. She decided I can have once a year appt.s now. Her prices went up,so Im glad about that! Ive switched over to the generic clonazepam,so saving money there too. She said I didnt need her anymore, but Im afraid to go without a pdoc. She's the one prescribing the benzo. I do suppose my gp would prescribe it,but you know how strange they can be about it. Im going to Duck Outer Banks next month, very excited about being near salt water! Hiking still everyday. Are you glad warmer weather is here? What meds are you on? Still luvox with xanax, valium?

Hi Gadchik I've been to Duck it's lovely. When lived in Chesapeake & VA Beach was but an hour away. Did you rent a house? Once a year that is great. Klonopin is a keeper for you. I don't know about GP's either. Would your pdoc call your GP and ask that he/she now prescribe for you? I feel psychologically to not need a pdoc is a feeling of I'm well now. Glad you took the time to write and fill me in. P

We agreed that I will see my pdoc once a year until menopause,as that could be a trigger for me. We discussed some issues that concerned me about my stability, and she listened and said that my brain is laying down new pathways of dealing with my thoughts and anxieties, in a good way. She feels that I am well now,but also that anxiety disorders wax and wane. She wants me to stay on low dose clonazepam and see how Im feeling after menopause. Yes, Im renting a house in Duck, and my dog gets to go too! I havent been to Outer Banks since 2008 or 09. Hope you are enjoying spring!

Gadchik congrats and if I knew then what I know now about menopause I would have handled it differently. Seriously bioidentical hormones based on your own unique hormones are safe during this period. Don't wait as long as I did as then they become dangerous. You will do fine. You have been to Duck later than I went. Cool with the dogs do they like the beach? Large or small ones? P

yes, I will chek into natural hormones early, that seems to be the way to go. I have 1 dog, a toy manchester terrier, and he's never been to the beach. He's a strange one, so dont know what to expect when he sees the ocean!I also have a cat, who will stay home.
