Hi
I have been taking Phentermine for a while now and it improves my mood greatly the only problem is it puts my already fast resting pulse rate of 100 up to 120 (I'm a30 year old male) . Is this seriously life threatening or could I possibly keep taking it for a few more months to get my life going?
I know most of you aren't qualified practitioners and I will ask my psych when he gets back from holidays but in in my the mean time I would greatly appreciate anyone's educated opinion so I don't have a heart attack in the mean time.
Regards.

To me this is a question only a doc who knows your medical history is qualified to answer. Phillipa

ask about a beta blocker or clonodine....there also is a med called Tenex which is used for ADHD yet its vary similar to clonodine...just less sedating.
I don't think there's anything OTC right now that could help it....maybe there's some herbs, or something that would lower it but im not sure. Google...

120 bpm does seem a bit fast. I would certainly seek medical opinion.
You could take a beta blocker.

60-100 for adults. I would guess 70-75 would be more the norm for your age.
Not an ER but you should see your doc soon.
I don't know if you've had tachycardia before but you probably wouldn't be posting, you'd be calling 911. It's really scary.

I guess that is tachycardia. I must have been a step or two up when I had it. A step closer to death.
My pulse is running about 75 and I'm on Adderall but with a bunch of other meds.

> Regards. At your age the most likely negative effect of sustained tachycardia would be that it would contribute to eventual heart failure as you age. How's your BP? If it is on the high side as well get your doc to write for a beta blocker. Atenolol is the most lipophilic of the beta blockers and thus least likely to cause psychiatric side effects.
