Ok, my doc did up me to 20mg but he wants me to take 15 in the morning and 5 at night. Will I still be getting the full benefit of the 20mg bc I'm not taking it at once?

You will get a slightly higher blood level overnight. If you are a fast metabolizer, this is a benefit. The slightly lower blood level during the day should not be clinically significant.
Did your doctor say why he wanted to split the dose this way?

He is doing this because I am sensitive to side effects. He said he didn't want to throw all 20mg at me at once. Also because my morning anxiety seems to be the worst of it. But overall if I stick with this schedule, I will be getting the 20mg benefit, correct?

Yeah, you should get full benefit of the Lexapro activity.
By breaking up the dose, you won't get as big as an initial spike in blood levels as you would if you took the 20mg as a single dose. This should help contain the side effects.
What your doctor is doing does make sense.
