Hi
I was hoping we could all share our favourite antidepressant mood boosters that aren't SSRI, SNRI, TCA, MAOI or Benzo related mood boosting / cognitive enhancing psychoactive. My favourites =
Baklofen - it's a GABA-B agonist very similar to Gabapentin but cheaper, my shrink prescribes it for anxiety and alcohol cravings but I find at high doses it it helps a lot with dysthymic depression and social anxiety. Tolerance is a big problem though.
Hmm I can't really think of any others right now I can strongly vouch for.
I would love to hear what others have tried. Especially things like Nootropics / Racetams, 5ht, L-dopa, Meantime, Lithium with SSRI. Anything you like.

Maybe yes, maybe no...but I like to think that they work. It might be the notorious placebo effect playing a role.

Thanks.
I take most of these as well. Looking for something with a bit more of a kick though.I might try Phenibut but I think it would have a cross tolerance with my Baclofen.

I am taking prazosin and minocycline along with my more mainstream medications to treat bipolar depression. These are uncommon treatments, but not necessarily the "best". I am happy with the direction my recovery is taking, though. I would just like it to happen more quickly, but I'll take what I can get. If I get "stuck", I would consider trying ketamine infusions or deep TMS while continuing my current medications in order to accelerate the rate of improvement.
Currently:
Parnate 80 mg/day
nortriptyline 150 mg/day
Lamictal 200 mg/day
lithium 450 mg/day
Abilify 10 mg/day
minocycline 200 mg/day
prazosin 15 mg/day
