this has been discussed much here but most in the past....shock theray....what?? does it just eletricute the nueronsmitters to get off their lazy butts and work correctly?
i've read bad stories about it....short term memories are erased, or people have difficuly rerember things for a while.
I'm so sick of my body not working right, like a cheap car...it works good, but then it falls apart fast...and im only 25 and have some undiagnosed stuff....im sick of my body... maybe ill volenteer for the next electric chair...
anyways...has anyone had the shock in the past? any success from it?

ECT is mainly used in severe endrogenous depression which is so severe the patient might commit suicide while waiting for drugs to work, or where multiple drugs have failed RJ (also it can be used to terminate an attack of mania, but drugs are usualy used for that now), and I dont get the impression thats your problem.
When you get medicade can you seek a second opinion from another psychiatrist?

Nobody understands how or what ECT does. They think it floods the brain with neurotransmitters, but they really have no idea what's happening. Just, some people seem to get better with ECT. But it's a last resort thing. When you're about to off yourself, you try ECT. Didn't help me one bit.

Glad to hear you arnt thinking of ECT RJ, once you get medicare or medicade or whatever, i would seriously try and get a second opinion from another psychiatrist - get a firm diagnonis as to whats wrong with you, and get your treatment reviewed

there's.....nothing wrong with me....im simply rj and this is who i am, and I pride myself in being unique individuel... if there was a delete button then most of my bad weeds in my posts would be gone....
the diagnosis i've had in chronilogical order: adhd, depression, manic depression, anxiety attacks, then it went dorant for a while and then all this stuff came up about aspergers and schizophenia....people are trying to anaylze something thats simple...i simply have troubles in some daily functioning and absorbing info, and feel like sh*t because i did them wrong....or learned it wrong...i do see another psychiatrist for the SSI things...and then it will be faxed to my current pdoc. So .... yea ...
so whatever i said or implied that made you have that tone...im sorry

Sorry, i wasnt trying to sound rude, when i said "what was wrong with you' i meant your diagnosis - see if a 2nd psychiatrist agrees with that your current one thinks.
I wasnt trying to imply that there is anything more wrong with you than there is with me or anyone else here, we all just have an illness
