I told my doctor two appointments ago that all anything sexually related was shut down. In typical psychiatrist fashion he looked perplexed and said that I wasn't on high enough dosages on my meds to affect that. I basically said that I didn't care if he had me on one aspirin a day that it's pretty easy to figure out.
The next appt I said things were unchanged. He tilted his head like the RCA dog and said hum. I looked out the window.
I don't really want to start shuffling meds and after having this on and off for thirty years I've gotten to the point of who cares?
Just to throw it out there I'm on
Seroquel 300mg
Lithium 900mg
Clonazepan 1.5mg
Lamictal 300mg
Adderall 40mg before adding this it was the same.Anyone agree with my doc that this shouldn't cause problems?

> Anyone agree with my doc that this shouldn't cause problems?I know of a few people on low doses of Abilify (5mg), and their sex drive was improved to a noticeable effect. Also, Wellbutrin is always an adjunct for sexual dysfunction with SSRI's, but do not know if it is contraindicated with Seroquel or lithium? But I can attest that it helped me while on Lexapro.

I'm sure it's the clonazepam.

Unfortunately been on both, Wellbutrin three times, made me want to kill fellow motorists. Abilify put me into some kind of rapid cycling which some people doubt that it could. I would almost be willing to try it again but I don't remember if it helped with sexual dysfunk.
Before being dx'd with bipolar I was on an SSRI(all of them) Clonazepam and Ritalin. I was for a while, a sex machine. lol Those were the days.
Thanks for your reply.

You may be right but I've been on it for years with other drugs with no problem. Hmmm, I'll do some reading on that I never would have thought of it. Thanks schleprock . Maybe Lou can tell me that I'll die before I find the answer. (I know you love him too)
You know, it's funny that we take meds for these illnesses, gain 50 pounds, can't have sex and doctors wonder why we aren't doing better.

I've always been compliant with meds unless I had a severe reaction. I've watched weight gain and stayed the course. Maybe I should have told my doctors to screw themselves because I sure couldn't.
Frustrating day today.

Phil was going to stay off this thread but you are seriously funny even though I understand your frustration. If any consolation to you this guy/girl who is a manager in grocery store here is doing the sex change thing. I asked him/her outright if was and said yes. Aaron now Erin now wears a bra taking hormones but said not doing surgery. So I ask you does he/she use the ladies room or men's room. He always wanted to be a girl he said. How does this relate to your question no idea. Phillipa

I wouldn't care which bathroom they used as long as I wasn't in it. To each his own but I would be quite confused. I'd have to increase therapy appts if I saw boobs and a dingaling much less pick her up at a club. I'm way passed that lifestyle anyway.
