Anyone take brand name Parnate?

Posted by LucidDreamer on December 27, 2012, at 22:11:03

Hello. I picked up my prescription of Parnate today, and noticed I got the generic version. I asked if the pharmacist if they have access to the regular Parnate and they told me they don't. This is CVS pharmacy. I did some research and found a few people saying that the brand name worked better for them, although I don't know exactly how reliable that is. I was wondering two things. First anyone know if the generic is probably just as good as brand name? And does anyone actually get the brand name through your local pharmacy? If so can you tell me what pharmacy that is (just wanted to know)? Should I feel confident and just take the generic? Please tell me what you think. Also, anyone know if ground beef (would it matter if it was lean?) is safe with MAOIs? Thank you!

1. Fresh ground beef is fine with an MAOI

2. For the vast majority of people, the generic is just as good as the brand name

3. Any pharmacy should realy be able to order in the brand name Parnate is you want them to - they might not carry it as a regular lie, but it should be avaliable from their wholesalers if they can be bothered

Is there such a thing as non-generic parnate. I mean parnate has been around for 40-50 years. Who would be still manufacturing a "non-generic" brand. It's been generic for decades.

I would like to know this as well. And to Phillipa, CVS ordered generic Parnate no problem.

Good deal as they wouldn't order a specific generic of a different med for me. Phillipa

I took brand name Parnate around 10 years ago and switched over to the generic, I didn't notice any difference

I have too, in two different forms: the early 2000s Glaxo tabs had some sort of sugary coating, the ones they (still) make now, are, consistency-wise, indistinguishable from the PAR generic.

Never noticed a difference. Best of luck -
