Paxil Experiences?

Posted by rjlockhart37 on December 11, 2012, at 17:53:54

i've been on prozac since 2005 its been 7 years, and im still having... like prozac when it started working...i felt this feeling, its hard to describe but more like a lively feeling, full of content, social...warm feeling...kinda like a vary low form of MDMA....and then it lost its effect in 2010, and im on Lamictal too...no effect from it either. I've been praying for a breakthrough for me to get better.

anyone here taken paxil?

Yes, over the years, have taken Paxil, Prozac, Zolfot, and Celexa

For me, they have all been more or less the same, though some people do do detter one one than the other

Zoloft and lexapro are generaly regarded as the best of the SSRI's, if you havent tried these, and think that you can squeeze more out of these drugs than Prozac is giving you, then it might be worth trying either of these.

RJ first ad ever was paxil l0mg with xanax. It made me feel horrible for a full three months. Stayed on it for a little over a year and discontinued it as felt well. Phillipa

rj-

I tried many SRIs and I found Lexapro, which I'm taking now (and have been on for years) is the best. It's certainly the cleanest in the sense that it only works on serotonin. Celexa, its predecessor, was good too.

Also, it seems men have a lot of success with Zoloft.

As for Paxil, it just made me dull and angry/agitated.

Bryn how high is your dose of lexapro? And you found celexa to be similar? Exact opposite for me celexa made me soooo tired. Lexapro neutral but low dose. Phillipa

Hi Phillipa-

I'm on 20 mg of Lexapro. It was a while ago, but I do remember Celexa being very similar. They are the only SRIs I've done well with.
