liquid diet...been 9 days and its vary difficult to lose weight, i go up and down, staying in the 230 range...i jog now, but of course my wonderful body caused a complication and the knee pulled something, i can't run for a couple days...

if I eat any kinda of real food will that go onto the weight...i read when your body is not digesting food, only liquids it lowers the metabolsm to save energy....have to idea, read that somewhere. If that's the case, i can't eat food now. I have to eat some kinda of food or ill faint...the diet has all the nutrients I need, incluiding aminoacids typrosine and DLPA and Trptophan....yet its like nothing gets absorbed. This body is such a lousy piece of crap, i could trade it in and make sure its disposed of...

anything I can do else to lose wieght fast?

Hi rjlockhart37,

What works for me is walking briskly at least 4 to 5 times per week. The key here is consistency, and because it's easier on my body, I can do it longer and for weeks on end without injury.

If I want to be challenged more, I look for hills to hike up. I take my ipod along and immerse myself in music or an audio book. Often I end up walking for hours because I enjoy it so much. Sometimes I follow it up with simple push-ups and sit-ups for strength training.

For me, this routine has been more effective in weight loss than anything.

I hope this helps. Good luck! :-)

RJ, those protein sparing modified fasts have been shown to be safe and effective in the short term, they contain enough protein to spare lean body tissue, but the calories intake is still low enough to simulate a fast.

If you are using it as your sole source of calories, make sure that it is a compelte diet, not just a meal replacement (like Slimfast)

A gentelar method is to have a shake for breakfast and lunch, and some lean protein (steak, chicken, fish) and non starchy vegetables for dinner - this feels less like starvation, and helps you learn new eating habits and portion control.

Supplment this with a multivitamin like Centrum, and walk briskly for an hour or so each day - the weight will melt off, it will also help to keep your metabilism ticking over and help counter the slowdown that dieting brings.

Also, 2lb per week should be your weightloss target, 3lb per week tops

More than 2 lbs a week is also loss of muscle tissue which your internal organs are made of including your heart muscle. Follow a diabetic diet they are used or were when I was pregnant less than 1200 calories a day and it's starvation mode. Why not buy a lean cruisine or other dinner, fruits and veggies protein 2 onces every 4 hours to maintain blood sugar levels. And the walking will avoid injury. Phillipa
