Ive suffered from dissociation for years, after trauma of course. I still have chronic amnesia, briefly i havent taken new information in for 40 years. I am so fed up and angry. I have just lost yet another job because coping with a class of stroppy kids when you cant remember their names and I give the wrong impression, of being hyped up and weird, Any advice. I have even thought of depriving myself of sleep because that might weeken my defenses and allow all the repressed emotions to break through. On the other hand, it might make me dissociate more. I have had no medical help, because when i did ask for help I was really in a bad state and couldnt handle the disbelieve.

Why is cortisol in the title see no mention of it? Do you have a diagnosis. If teaching or working with kids for 40 years are your an older person or did I read this wrong? Phillipa
