Hello.
Since Scott is posting about his mino trial, I'll join the party. This is the one-month mile-marker for me. It is still working. I had a few rough days and increased the dose, and I'm doing well with it. So far, I have improved mood, a little better focus, and less daytime fatigue. It seems clean so far with respect to side effects. My doctor and I are both pretty pleased. :)

Emme,
It's great to hear that you too are still doing well on minocycline one month in. I'm glad that you've decided to keep us updated on your response to the medication, and of course, I hope that you continue to notice benefits from taking minocycline.

I'm really also glad you decided to post your response to the mino as seriously still see that bottle each day in cabinet and with a legitimate Rx for it and current I may very well take again. Especially since I read last night the rosea is now associated with a bateria and it's related to ecezema which I'd never had before. Emme see I know from the past that doxy does make me feel better and is related. Phillipa

Emme and Scott,
Since you're taking an antibiotic long-term, are you taking probiotics as well? If so, what kind?

Unless you manage to find a strain of probiotic that has been bread to be resistant to minocycline, the drug will be killing the bacteria off faster than you can take them in - its a fruitless excersise, unless you obtain a probiotic that has been bread to be resistant to tetracyclines..... do a google search, there are some out there

Saccharomyces boulardii is a yeast-based probiotic that isn't killed by antibiotics. It's expensive -- about a dollar a capsule. Its brand name in the US is Florastor. In Australia it's called SB Floractiv.
