Hello, I am on Parnate for 40 days beginning at 30 mg and now I am on 50 mg for 20 days.
I also take Trazodone 75 mg/day at night for the insomnia from Parnate.I need motivation, activation but I have this only for 3-4h after a large dose of Parnate (30 mg or more). Without this short term effect, it's not at all activating, I have my usual apathy until I take the first dose.
How long should I wait before giving up?
I don't think an improvement is probable. Thanks for your help

You shouldn't be looking for a stimulant effect. You should be looking for an antidepressant effect. Many people need dosages of 80 mg/day to receive benefit. For me, this is the minimum effective dosage. I think it is prudent to give each dosage adjustment of an MAOI three weeks before evaluating its therapeutic effects.
