I usually don't drink. Maybe just one or two drinks a month. Went out to dinner last night and had 2 drinks with food and I was up all night and all day today feeling awful. Just terrible. This has never happened before.
I guess I absolutely cannot drink with lamictal.
I was severely thirsty, felt hungover, was sweating terribly. It has been an awful 24 hours. Can't wait until I feel normal tomorrow.
I will NEVER drink with Lamictal again.

Isn't it interesting how medication and alcohol combine differently for everyone? For some reason I think it should be a uniform across the board, like how adding yellow to blue makes green, but no!
I haven't had any problems having the occasional glass of wine with any meds, Lamictal included, apart from Epilim (a valproate) -- one sip of sparkling wine felt like I had downed two glasses in quick progression!
I hope you feel better soon.

I never had any trouble with beer, wine, with benzos and even an SSRI. Unfortunately for me my thyroid acted up and sent me spinning into high anxiety. Was working at the time. Long story short it was switched to chloral hydrate. No more alchohol then lost taste and smell so didn't want to not taste something I'd enjoyed so it's been over 15 years without any. Interestingly I felt the best ever when drinking beer after work and just taking .5 of xanax to sleep. Woke feeling the greatest. And it lasted throughout the days. Phillipa
