I don't think its the medication:
1) Lightheadedness
2) Nausea
3) Overreactive adrenaline feeling, anxiety
4) Disorganized thoughts
5) ....i can't explain it, but im feeling that I need to get this checked out...i feel really low on energy and constantly thirsty. I was cleaning the mircowave a while ago and I thought I was going to pass out....i got lightheaded...its so hot outside in dallas its 104....I have to clean the barbecue grill and I just can't do it right now. I usally can take the heat...but since these things started, I can't. I will real lightheaded and get that feeling your going to pass out.
really all this slowly started coming on...the sluggish feeling, the disorganized thoughts, I had not a good session with my psychologist because I completly talked random and sometimes didnt make any sense but I was aware of it....tried to stay topic but this seriously has got to be something that has been undignosed, the only close thing I can relate this too was with the DARS psych evaulation with disorganized schizophrenia...
but.....thirsty....fatigue...can't think straight.........lightheaded.....there's something that has been undignosed that is causing all this.
anything from you would be great....

Because you have been taking an AP, I would think first about an elevated blood sugar.

i got on google and research this subject and all the symptoms that I am having and its pointing to type 2 diabietes from what I know, excessive thrist all the time, feeling faint, tired, feeling drained, can't think right....that's it...seriously and now it makes sense because the main thing in type 2 DI is that gluclose doesnt get absobed into the cells, and that includes the medication that I take....that explains everything...i thought i'd never figure it out.
If anyone knows at least something about diabietes is there anyway you fix the glucose being absorbed into the body cells? including all the medication....i take....
im gonna have to have bloodwork done....and you know what caused this??? ZYPREXA!!! its known to cause this after long periods at high doses. Omgod...i hate this....crush the little weasel!
anyone that knows some tips what do about this ... please post.

Did these symptoms just start for you after you started Fanapt? If they did, I would get a hold of your prescribing doctor right away and tell him/her about the symptoms that you've been experiencing. It might be the case that the 20 mg of Zyprexa that you're taking (which is a lot of antipsychotic to begin with) with the 16 mg of Fanapt that you just added is too much for you. If you just started experiencing the symptoms that you're reporting here since adding Fanapt to your regimen, your prescribing doctor needs to know about the reaction that you're having.

RJ that is a good point as 20mg of zyprexa is a large amount. And Fenapt is the new antipsychotic? How long you been on it? Phillipa

It sounds like it could be heat stroke.

Yea....you know what really intresting about it is that I take and there's no effect at all....or vary little effect and this is with these two potent antipsychotics....something is not absorbing the medications like it said in symptoms of diabeties type 2 that the cells don't absorb the glucose in the blood, so it rises and causes high blood sugar symptoms...and also that could mean my meds are in blood, but their not absorbing into the brain, or the converstion to make them have a psychological effect.
I will let the doctor know....but actually its not 16mg i'm moving up on it...i think last night I took 6-8mg...? and 16 is the dose when I get there that there going to lower the zypreza by 5mg's every other week.
Still this really spells diabetic symtptoms all over it, and zyprexa im thinking is the canidate to cause it, because I take the max dose of it, and have for couple years, its gone up and down.
thanks for posting...

hey phillipa....i've been on zyprexa for years...its gone from maybe 10mgs to 15...then 20...it used to be vary helpful with anxiety but zyprexa causes me to feel like theres all these bricks over my head and its difficult to think. The Fanapt...is going to replace the zyprexa due to less weight gain issues, still it work a little similar...zyrexa actually is a benzodiapine-related antipsychotic...here check it out..
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Olanzapine
line 3...that's why it would always have this incredible calm effect after ingested, but also it can cause heavy sedation unlike benzos that's alot stronger to where you can't think. Thorazine type tranquilization.
yea s9 you know im just going along with the doctors, going through all these ridicuolous meds that I don't think are going to work. All I believe I need is maybe Ativan, prozac, and any stimulant that will increase my concentration and focus.
that's all ... thanks!:)

that is a really....that explains alot...i've had heat reactions due to excessive body from over using amphetamines. Just recently I was working on a roof and could not even process what I was trying to say....it was methamphetamine that was causing the withdrawl reactions, plus the heat which was at least 101 degrees that day standing on a roof, i nearly collpased off the roof because it was slanted..then my boss drug tested me and it wasnt pretty after that..
I've got to get this checked out....there is something that is going on that is undiagnosed that seriously causing all this feeling horrible, thirsty all the time, fatigue that causes the mood to feel retchid...yea...i guess a CAT or PET scan would help...also MRI...I have to have valid reason to infom my doctor that this is whats needed, which I do.
thanks that really was a good point that I am going to discuss with my regular doc...

how lond have you been having the problem of meds not working? Alcohol can give you diabetes too. I've been taking zyprexa for 14 years now and not diabetes from it. geodon on the other hand gave me diabetes that went away with discontinuation. How long on zyprexa? excessive weight can also give diabetes. I also think that high or low blood sugar can give anxiety. You can buy a cheep glucose meter at wallmart and some test strips and check you blood sugar. If its over 200 and hour after a meal you have diabetes. Blurry vision is also high blood sugar. A normal reading for blood sugar is about 70-200.
