Did you notice any difference between the several lithium salts? I took lithium aspartate over the last 10 years but suddenly developed diarrhea (at 0.5 mmol/l !) --> osmotic water. Now I`m changing to lithium carbonate but it seems that I have polyuria. How is that possible because I`m used to Lithium? What are your experiences with several lithium salts?

Have you any experience if when you take lithium once daily (instead of twice) you have less side effects like polyuria and diarrhea?

hi ben-
i'm only on 300mg of lithium, but i take it as one dose before i go to sleep. initially, my pdoc briefly had me try 300mg, twice a day, but i couldn't tolerate the side effects, so we stayed at 300 (which has been good) taken only at night. my gi issues seem to be less of an issue like this, and when they're not, i generally sleep through it. i also find that taking it as one dose before bed helps me sleep.
