In order to manage slight depression and keep anger and rage to a minimum, being that I am very sensitive to meds is 600mg of Lithium and 4mg of Klonopin a day a good combo?
I have been doing this for the past 5 days and I have bee sleeping great and so far so good.
I do have a fear of weight gain with Lithium, but so far I haven't been able to exercise since I pulled my back.
I'm trying to take the least amount of meds possible.
I thought trying 600mg of Lithium and 4mg of Klonopin a day was a good start.

Are you taking Trileptal 600 mg/day?I would suggest that you take what works now and perhaps worry about optimizing your treatment regime later.
Several study groups have reported that combining Trileptal with lithium is more effective than lithium alone in treating some cases of bipolar disorder - particularly hypomania with impulsivity.

Sheilac I relate to back problems and that without excercise anger also builds up. I experience that too as have a bad back. Will yours heal or is it chronic? Leaving the meds to Scott. Phillipa

Nope. Dropped the Trileptal and just taking 600mg Lithium. That is what my doc wanted me to take originally.
We'll see what she says. She may want me on more meds than Lithium and Klonopin.

The weird thing is that about a month after I started taking Trileptal I started having joint problems in my hips, then the muscles in my hips and back started giving me problems.
I have worked out for 2 years pretty hard and never had any problems. Then when I start taking trileptal I get these joint and muscle problems.
I saw where people have problems with joint issues with Lamictal, and some people said the same thing about Trileptal.
So, if I lay off the Trileptal for a while and just go with a higher dose of Lithium we'll see.
I just think it's strange that within 2 weeks of starting Trileptal again, I pull the muscles in my back.
My doc may want me to add on something else to the Lithium we'll see.
