im glad my Clamoxyl anti biotic therapy is over!
lot of sedation, tiredness, diarhea lol
did nothing for psychosis, it made things worse i am wondering how i will respond to minocycline, i tried, Augmentin high dose, Clamoxyl 1500 mg a day wow yes... :( im so sad right now

At least one of the properties of minocycline being focused on for the treatment of schizoid disorders is that its being an anti-inflammatory. Brain inflammation is seen in several psychiatric disorders, including depression. I think there is an anti-glutamate thing happening there, too.
The bottom line is that you cannot extrapolate to minocycline your experiences with the other antibiotics you have taken.
If you have a chance, perhaps you can ask your doctors why they prefer minocycline to doxycycline.

Scott in all sincerity that post on here forget who posted it said antibiotics could last shelflife for up to 15 years as the military stock piles them if true have a full bottle of doxycycline and I'd like to take it for five days. What do you think. Would use to see if inflammation and all these eczema things and back pains subsides seeing that IGG for lymes still positive. Thanks Phillipa

I don't know why you were on ABX therapy but for it to make things worse what usually happens. That's because as those millions of pathogens die, their body parts, corpses, pee, poop, guts, etc....are floating around in your bloodstream and there is so much all at once that your liver and kidneys can't keep up with it all. And that results in global inflammation and feels bad. Stuff like lack of appetite and diarrhea are almost sort of universal side effects with many ABX, but the other stuff is more likely die-off reactions.
Most especially the psychosis! That's exactly what we feel when there is die off....worsened depression, a lot worse, worsened psychosis, a new first time psychosis, intense anxiety, etc. The toxins of death and infection, when they start competing with your own neurotransmitters for docking space at the receptors, you are going to feel it and it aint gonna feel good!
But it is good! That's because you killed some bad guys. What you just did....if you were to repeat the whole thing over and over I think you would find it gets less harsh each time, and that as things progress, the psychosis itself that has been plaguing you for so long will start to subside all by itself....because the body's load has been lessened....less toxins, less inflammation, less competition in your brain.
I think you need to understand though that if minocycline is going to help you, we are talking months....not days or weeks. So if you are planning on say maybe a 10 day round, 20 day round, something like that, forget it that is not going to get you anywhere.
Some of the things that cause our bizarre psychiatric symptoms are mycoplasma (bacteria that live inside your own cells safe from immune system and drugs) and Bartonella, which is a lyme coinfection but can also get it from cats or other insect bites. The thing about both of these in particular, versus the many other infections out there, is that the symptom profile is usually mainly psychiatric, not as much physical symptoms. And because none of our psych meds do much to remove the toxins, it sort of makes sense as one hypothesis why treatment resistance happens.
Anyway, Mino is one of the few ABX that can get inside our own cells....but like most ABX is only effective during a certain stage of the pathogen's life cycle....so it's a waiting game with each generation within us....and when they die our own cell they lived in might die too....another reason it could feel crappy. Mino is intracellular and can get those, but like I said the process takes months.
If you are taking ABX for a specific short term infection that's one thing. But if you are taking ABX as an angle to beat psychosis, a short term course is not going to work. About all you will feel during a short normal course is probably a horrible Herxheimer reaction (the die-off, the worsening of psychosis), but not enough killing yet to feel better when it clears. Or like I discovered can happen with me, I can accidentally stir up a hornet's nest and all of a sudden be dealing with a bigger situation than I had. But that's ok. Got em out of hiding, reconfirmed they are still there and there is more work to do.
