Inositol in psychiatry for depression, anxiety

Posted by Novelagent on May 19, 2012, at 0:16:53

http://www.biopsychiatry.com/inositol.htm

I have read success stories of people who tried it for SSRI sexual dysfunction getting relief from their social anxiety...

Anyone use Inositol for sexual dysfunction? (nm)

In many years of watching I have never seen anyone duplicate the internet claims of inositol benefits. Once in a while someone will find it helpful, and in those cases it seems to poop out pretty fast.

Anything is worth a try so if you are interested I don't think it should be ruled out.

If it's sexual dysfunction in particular that you want to address, there are about a half dozen herbs that have a solid reputation for that especially when they are combined into combos. As with any other treatment option it does require some experimentation.

I find that it works REALLY great for a few days after starting and then poops out. Although, I've never taken it longer than a week. I've read that it actually is supposed to work after 2 weeks of continuous intake.
