Update on abilify

Posted by Laney on May 14, 2012, at 11:13:43

Well I haven't seen any benefit at all at 2-1/2mg. times 2 weeks so I upped it to 5mg. three days ago. How long do you think I should take it at 5mg. before giving up on it? It's really expensive for me to take without any benefit except some weight gain? Uggggh!

Thanks everyone!

Laney do you feel your functioning warrants it? What is the difference in how you felt when the paxil was working well. Trying to analyze myself also. Thanks. I'm sorry the 2.5mg didn't work. Phillipa

P -

The difference is that I was upbeat, more loving, more connected spiritually, even more witty. I swear it was my paxil tapers that altered my brain chemistry and thus my mood.

By the way, this is hard to explain but I was not depressed when I went on paxil. I remember my life well at the time. Not perfect - don't expect it to be, but going well and happy in a natural sense.

I went on it for this head pressure crap that I was having. It did nothing for me noticeable except take that head pressure away. It didn't have any noticeable side effects at all. But... when I wanted to go off of it, that's when all hell broke loose and my mood along with it. I've been trying to feel like myself again ever since.

I function yes. I go to school and do all kinds of things that seem perfectly "normal" but I know me and how I should be feeling.

I hope I put it in a way you could understand.

How are things going with you?

Hugs....

Laney

Hi Laney,
It didn't do anything for me, either, which was disappointing, as my pdoc sung its praises. He felt it should work within a week or so if it was going to.

Laney I sure do relate as have been doing a lot of thinking lately and can't understand why I ever took paxil first ad also at same l0mg when the low dose xanax a mere .25mg three times a day was working. It was at the same time that thyroid went. So I was given an ad when I needed time for thyroid to adjust. Now it's the wierd luvox I can't get off and want off. Lexapro don't take no problem. Luvox? Give me high doses of benzos and I will not sleep. Sleep well now. What a horrible trick to play on a person. Love P
