Do you get this? anxiety that pops up and lingers

Posted by sleepygirl2 on May 12, 2012, at 21:24:28

I got anxious today. Just a bit of stress, but since this afternoon I've felt anxious, a bit agitated really, in a tense kind of way.
I've been getting a bit excitable lately.
Shouldn't I have chilled out a bit by now?? After 10pm?
I get all wound up, and I can't unwind it.
I only had 25mgs of seroquel left, so I took tomorrow's .5mg of klonopin already.
Maybe some exercise would help next time.

I think hormones have much to do with my anxiousness/agitation. Where are you in your cycle? I am calm most everyday now, except before a period. And each month is different, ugh.

I'm in menses. It's the getting anxious thing, and then staying anxious long after the stressor is gone. It's not my thoughts at that point, it's physical. I just can't get back down.

once it's physical anxiety,I can take .25mg klonopin and control it.Ive gotten blurry vision before, during an attack, then took k and got over it.(takes 30mins to kick in).If I have agitation at night,at bedtime, there's nothing that helps. My pdoc may give me seroquel or tofranil(she says I'd just have to take a crumb)but I really dont want to take anything. She also wanted me to try a small dose of prozac before my cycle.I didnt like it,had trouble sleeping.

During menses anxiety used to go down with the first day. A sense of calm would arrive. Doesn't sound hormonally related. Hope you feel better today. Phillipa
