I posted on admin but I don't know if that page gets any traffic and my question is urgent.
I logged in a work and I cannot figure out how to log out after quite some time trying. Someone is going to be using my office on days when I am not in it and it would be very upsetting if he were to come across my user name and find out all sorts of deeply personal information.
Bob, if you are reading (which I suspect you are not) this ios a huge problem with this site!!! At the very least this issue should be included in FAQ's!

On the post composition page, erase both your Name and Password. Write anything in the message box. Press or click the "Submit your post" button. You will get an error message. That should remove your name and password.
Let me know what happens.

you should be albe to delete browser history and all cookies. look in the settings of your browser. there should be an entry for privacy with a button or so to wipe everything personal away

Yes, but you delete some of those cookies that are important to others using the computer. I would try the method I outlined first. If it doesn't work, then I would delete the cookies.

Scott's suggestion should log you out but you probably also want to get rid of the cookies from this web site and the browsing history which will show every page you've viewed. You should be able to take out just the cookies and history from dr-bob.org without disturbing the rest. Exactly how you do this will depend on what browser you are using.
This should be enough to protect you from the casual curiosity of your co workers. Keep in mind however that your employer has the right to view everything you do over a work computer and that software that does that is both cheap and invisible. The safest course is to always assume that you have no privacy at work.
