Personally I feel sorry for the med student that asked the question to a hostile enviornment. As we need more and better psychiatrists just my opinion. Phillipa

I find that people on this board talk about psychiatrists very negatively. I love my p-doc. I see him both for therapy and meds, so I am never rushed. He is modest about what he knows and what he can do and empathic about side-effects. Has never tried to convince me that something was working when it wasn't or that some side effect was just in my own head.

Well, I didn't read it, but that's because I don't buy the premise of a blanket statement that people hate psychiatrists.
