Isn't that what its supposed to do? Slow you down help you focus and not be so hyper? Maybe its working? The dose is probably not too low if you are getting all those effects. I've never taken the med and don't have ADHD. Are you able to concentrate and work if you work. Maybe the tiredness will ease up after a while. I think you should take it for a while. My med are sedating also, which is good for me I funtion a lot better that way. I take APs. You do get used to it and funtion just fine. I think if anything you could try to reduce the dose a little and see if the sideeffects are more tolerable.

I have add without hyperactivity, I'm on the lowest dose of concerta 18mg. The one they start kids on. And no I wouldn't say it's helping me focus cause I'm so tired and drained

Hey Phillipa! Not to sound corny but your always such a sweetheart on this site and always do your best to contribute and help people and I just wanted to say I noticed that and think its really cool. But ya it's the least stimulating and after doing some research apparently a lot of people have this reaction to concerta so I'm thinking I might just not really be a respondent to concerta/Ritalin

I have been diagnosed with non-attentive ADD (don't think my recent doc agrees) and was on Concerta for a minute, I felt like it did absolutely nothing. I tend towards being tired and agree it's awful when medications make it even worse. I recommend Dexedrine which worked great for ADD but some docs don't like to prescribe it and for me it caused a little irritability when it wore off at night. Sorry you didn't get help before but I would definitely say Concerta doesn't seem to be for you. Good luck finding something better!

Definitely a low dose - that's a beginners dose.
