My doc said to take my lithium at night but then I'm up all night peeing and not getting good sleep.
Why does it matter that I take it at night?
Can't I just take it in the morning? It doesn't seem easier on the kidneys at night!

Hi Sheilac,
That's interesting. My pdoc likes me to space out my doses (twice a day) so there is a steady amount in the bloodstream.
Is lithium giving you side effects like drowsiness so that your doctor would suggest taking it at night?

I take lithium twice a day. Perhaps your doctor thinks that you would feel sedated if you were to take it in the morning.
