Up at night peeing!!! Help

Posted by Sheilac on February 28, 2012, at 6:18:40

Something's got me up at night peeing and it interrupts my sleep. It's either the lithium or Trileptal.

I take 300mg of lithium and Trileptal.

Anybody know which med it is that is keeping me up at night peeing all the time? If its the lithium I can switch it to the morning, but for some reason my doc said to take all the lithium at once at night. Maybe it's the Trileptal.

I don't know! I just want it to stop.

Any ideas?

Lithium can do that, but I think it's usually only with higher doses. Don't know about Trileptal.

According to this: http://harvardpartnersinternational.staywellsolutionsonline.com/HealthNewsLetters/69,M1009c the recommendation (if Lithium is the cause) is to take a single dose at nighttime as you are doing.

Ah, waking up to pee is one thing I don't miss about lamictal! It always started within a few days of getting on it and stopped immediately when I quit taking it, so there's no question that it was a lamictal side effect for me...
