I started this a little over two weeks ago at 20 mg(med sensitive) for anxiety and would like some feedback if you would.
At first it made me very sleepy and tired. I started taking it at night due to not being able to function in the day. I slept well for awhile but have started waking up after a few hours sleeping and that is it. Not feeling too bad but the lack of sleep sucks. The sleep is also very strange. Nothing like a real night of sleep.
Any anxiety users out there? Thoughts on Cymbalta?
I am thinking of going to a tca such as trimimpramine or doxepin for anxiety and sleep.
Thanks

Took cymbalta up to 60mg. Also was on benzos but one night took pamelor nortriptalline only at l0mg and was plastered to the bed til afternoon the next day. So didn't continue with the tca. Phillipa

I liked cymbalta a lot, but it revved me up rather than making me tired or calm. I am bipolar, however, so that would make sense.

I'm not a fan of cymbalta. If you are not feeling too bad, that is a decent clue to work with.
Hey if you are looking to switch, I would like to suggest savella. I am familiar with the whole med sensitive thing, so with savella would have to be probably 12.5mg tab cut in half....total dose for a day with b.i.d or t.i.d dosing about 12.5 - 25mg.
While fairly strong on norepinephrine, this med can actually make for really good sleep. The TCAs as you mentioned make sense. Since it's only been 2 weeks I might normally say it is way too early to make any judgements on efficacy or side effects, but in this case I am not a fan of cymbalta anyway so what's the point in hanging out with it any longer?
Jus fyi, it 'could' end up being a great med for with good sleep as well....too early to know...one of those situations where you kind of have to listen to your gut instincts whether to switch or stay.
This is the end of the thread.
