When I'm reading different protocols for the treatment of anxiety, pretty much all of them
say: USE SSRI's.If the SSRI's don't work, try another SSRI. If a benzo is needed, use it in the early stages of SSRI treatment, then taper off. Thats where it ends....apparently.
So, SSRI's apparently work for everbody's anxiety.

Anti-depressants almost cost me my life. I became totally suicidal (from anxiety) when taking them. Currently on small dose of Zyprexa plus clonazepam.

I have been reading some transcripts from Dr Stewart Shipko? on powersurge.com and he says benzos are safer and better for panic/anxiety.He really doesnt like the ssris at all for longterm, and says the withdrawal is worse for some than benzos

Ive also read that pdocs are more likely to prescribe a benzo as first line treatment for anxiety than pcps, who love the ssris.I did have a pcp,who was an internal med dr,that liked klonopin for anxiety. She told me it was perfectly safe to stay on indefinately,as long as i benefited from it and didnt develop tolerance. Then she left, and they assigned me a do,who didnt agree that I should be on a benzo, only wanted to consider ssris.

> So, SSRI's apparently work for everbody's anxiety.Yeah, and SSRIs are just as effacious for severe depression as other classes of anti-depressants. Balderdash. Might as well be expensive tic tacs with side effects.
