Has anybody had success using RITALIN for BIPOLA. I have just been prescribed it and will start in about 2 weeks. What can I expect when using this med

ritalin is not a tradtional treatment for bipolar. If you have classic bipolar, its probably not going to help - it may make things worse.
That being said, I have some sort of bipolar like disorder. I have distractability, impulsivity, hyperactivity and my mind races. Low dose ritalin has helped a lot.
If you experience a lot of mania, or psychotic like symptoms thought, its probably not your best bet.

I'm bp2, and I take ritalin. My PNP was worried that my lamictal wasn't "activating" me enough. So I take 5mgs of ritalin once a day, every day to give me a bit of "oomph".
