Tired Of Negatives Again On Meds Something for Ho

Posted by Phillipa on January 31, 2012, at 12:15:29

I'm sure this seems like I post almost the same thing over and over. But I do think people need hope to give meds a chance to work. And hear of some good success stories. What about another try? I think I need some hope today? Thanks Phillipa

As you know,I was unhappy w/remeron & zoloft in the long term, however,in the short term, both of those meds, along w/klonopin,saved me.I was on three for 2yrs.But I also had to do other things: cbt, nutrition, exercise, talking w/others,taking care of animals, etc. to move forward to good mental health.I was angry for awhile that I gained so much weight, but I try not to blame all of it on meds.Klonopin has remained.A constant. It works well for me.It's my nature tho to question it,want to stop it.Mostly, I know it fixes something in my brain.Others may say its a bandaid.I dont feel that way.I can do so many things I wouldnt before, and only on a small, once a day dose:fly, dentist, eye doctor,be assertive when I need to,be unafraid. Is that hopeful? YES!!!

There is hope! Every time I am in remission, I realize it.

Even if meds don't do it for you, you can try supplements, nutrition, exercise, therapy, art/writing, spirituality, etc. There are a number of ways to get from dysfunctional to functional; not all of them require a prescription.

So, yeah, there's hope. I just think you're narrowing your focus a bit too much.
