The mild withdrawl symptoms seem more or less gone.... I went from 3mg a tda to 2mg a day last year without any withdrawls, then a week ago went from 2mg a day to 1mg a day. I think I'll stay at 1mg a day for another week, then go down to 0.5mg a day and see how things go.

You should try Nuerontin or Lyrica. They are GREAT for benzo withdraws. Personally I think you should try Xanax XR.

Xanax XR isnt on the market in Australia.
I have only had very minor withdrawls for a few days, a feeling like a mild dose of flu (dull headache, malaise, which responded to ibuprofen) and a couple of nights of bad sleep when I went from 1mg twice a day to 0.5mg twice a day.
Next Monday I will go from 0.5mg twice a day to 0.5mg at night for a week, then stop. After that I will just take a pill when I feel the need.
I'm very pleased how this has gone.

Hi Phillipa - I felt a maliase for a few days when i suddenly dropped the dose, like a mild case of flu (tired, dull headache, a bit of nausea, a bit achey)
Ibuprofen and Dramamine helped the headache and nausea, and it only lasted 3 days or so.
I should have gone slower, droped from 2mg to 1.5mg instead of from 2mg to 1mg, then I wouldnt have had any symptoms at all.
Considering I have taken 2 or 3mg of Xanax every day for 2 years, I think the withdrawl process has been easy.
I will now just keep the Xanax to be used as needed - when I feel especialy anxious, I will take a pill, on days when I feel good I wont take it

Seems I never feel good with or with out bezos and after 43 years not a good feeling. And don't want ad's anymore. They don't help. Glad your taper worked. And is still working. Phillipa

Might be worth giving mirtazapine one more shot phillips, it is a very good antidepressant, and also deals with anxiety, panic attacks and insomnia..... 15mg at night for 4 nights then 30mg at night..... might just help?
